preschool dance & Kinderdance
Preschool Dance
This class is geared toward a young dancer that has not yet entered kindergarten. We will explore movements with minimal technical dance structure. The students will use props that will help them to develop motor skills and body awareness through songs and dance. The class will help students to develop fundamental coordination, such as hopping, skipping, leaping, and galloping. Additionally, they will gain further practice in basic classroom social skills such as how to take turns and follow the leader. In addition to these dance skills, students will begin instruction on basic movements for ballet class.
*No shoes required, though dancers may wear ballet shoes.
Kinderdance (Ballet, Tap)
These classes are geared toward a kindergarten-aged student and are designed to build upon coordination, balance, strength, rhythm, posture, and creativity. Students may choose to participate in one, two or all three of the kinder dance classes. In Ballet, the students will gain knowledge and experience in basic elements done in a creative and fun manner for young children. In tap, techniques will be taught through song, dance, rhythm, and counting.
*Ballet & Tap shoes required.
