Creative Movement, Pre-school Ballet, & Kinderdance
This class is geared toward a young, first year dancer that has not yet entered school. We will explore movements with minimal technical dance structure. The students will use props that will help them to develop motor skills and body awareness through songs and dance. The class will help students to develop fundamental coordination, such as hopping, skipping, leaping, and galloping. Additionally, they will gain further practice in basic classroom social skills such as how to take turns and follow the leader.
*No shoes required.
Pre-school Ballet (Creative Movement 2)
This class is designed for a 4-5 year old dancer (typically the year before kindergarten). In this class students will build upon skills learned in Creative Movement with more of a focus on basic movements of dance for ballet class.
In addition to these dance skills, students will still continue to develop use songs, dances, games and activities to build upon fundamental coordination in movement
and classroom social skills.
*Ballet shoes are recommended.
Kinderdance (Ballet, Tap, Modern)
These classes are geared toward a kindergarten-aged student and are designed to build upon coordination, balance, strength, rhythm, posture, and creativity. Students may choose to participate in one, two or all three of the kinder dance classes. In Ballet, the students will gain knowledge and experience in basic elements done in a creative and fun manner for young children. In tap, techniques will be taught through song, dance, rhythm, and counting. In modern students will experience improvisation as well as other basic modern elements of space, time, weight, and energy.
